Bishop’s Mission is a non-profit organization that provides mental health and emotional support to active or retired first responders—like firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and dispatchers—who deal with stressful and traumatic situations. Our goal is to help them cope with the challenges they face on the job by offering peer support, stress management, and a safe space to talk with others who understand what they’re going through.
We also use animal-assisted support in some of our debriefings to bring comfort during tough times. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, emotional support after a difficult incident, or helping responders build resilience, Bishop’s Mission is here to ensure no first responder goes through tough times alone.
At Bishop's Mission, we are committed to embodying the core values of effective peer support. Our focus is on fostering a sense of belonging, inspiring hope, and upholding the honor of those who serve in high-stress, critical roles. Through educational programs and peer-driven initiatives, we promote healing and openness, reaching out to responders and their families who need support.
Our Peer Support Coffee Speakeasy offers a retreat for first responders to decompress, engage with peers, and find solace with the help of trained animals. Whether seeking a quiet place to reflect or peer-driven guidance, the lounge provides a supportive environment that encourages healing and emotional wellness.
