SOKNOPRIDE CELEBRATION
SoKno Pride’s mission is to offer safe spaces for historically marginalized citizens to come
together and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. Our annual event's profits are donated to help non-profit organizations sustain their efforts in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and promoting racial equality.
Since 2021, we have hosted a family-friendly neighborhood festival to connect and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in the Knoxville area. Each year, we have the privilege to partner with business owners on the block of Sevier Avenue to host nearly 100 vendors, dozens of performers,
and activities that aim for inclusivity and are appropriate for all ages. Additionally, in 2022, Sokno Pride was officially established as a charitable organization (501c3).
We emphasize that anyone and everyone can join the celebration with a child-friendly zone that is specifically geared towards different hands-on, nature-based activities that families can enjoy together. This area has been hosted by groups including Little River Montessori School, Ijams Nature Center, The Tennessee Champion Tree, and the Children’s Diversity and Justice Library.
SoKno Pride focuses on raising funds and donating to other local non-profit organizations. In 2021, we had the privilege of granting over $1,000 to six different organizations, and in 2022, just under $4,000 to three organizations in the Knoxville area.
Join us in bringing the vibrancy of the rainbow to SoKno! We invite you to support our mission of providing safe spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community in the area by donating to our organization. Together, let's create a more welcoming and inclusive Knoxville.
