It could be said that late November 2017 brought a collective heart break to the Portland, Oregon LGBTQIA+ community when it saw the closing of The Embers Avenue. More than a bar, more than a drag club after almost 50 years of operation Embers had become a home and a safe space for entertaining and hosting community events.     Oregon State Leather Contest, formerly Blackout Leather Productions, had a long standing relationship with the bar, it’s owners and staff. Allowing us to host our contests and related events. Since it’s closing to say we have struggled to find a new home is beyond an understatement.     The years since have seen more overt struggles with the pandemic shutting down social norms. As we have emerged we strive to get back to some semblance of the things we did that made us feel happy and connected.  We are pleased to announce that we have established new connections to finally mend that hole.     We return to a bar style contest! We return to downtown Portland! We return to the  beloved building at 110 NW Broadway!  Oregon State Leather Contest would like to welcome you and yours to our Oregon State Leather Contest 2024!
