If you’ve been following our journey, you already know that thanks to your generosity, we’ve made significant strides. We’ve shared our work with thousands of people across Canada, in theatres, outdoor events, on film, and through pedagogical, outreach, and mentorship programs. We’ve increased artist wages in response to the sharp rise in inflation, and implemented important initiatives such as parental support for artists on tour and royalty fees for dancers.
We’re committed to pioneering innovative methods that promote ideal environments for dance artists and designers to excel in their craft, and new mentorship and workshop initiatives to promote professionalization and creative development amongst younger artists.
By donating today, you directly contribute to our mission of empowering artists and creating work that is important to us. Your donation goes directly towards artist cachets and administrative fees that help us do our best work.
Join us in championing these vital initiatives and ensuring a bright and sustainable future for dance and for Parts+Labour.
All our love xx
David and Emily
> Started a new creation with a technical residency at Agora de la danse, bringing together new faces and long-time collaborators
> Created two new commissioned works for École de danse contemporaine de Montréal and École de danse de Québec, nurturing over 20 budding artists
> Presented new in-situ work One More for Good Measure at Festival des arts de Saint-Sauveur
> Tour dates our solo work À bout de bras in Vancouver and Montreal
> Represented Quebec and Canada at the PAMS and BPAM marketplaces in South Korea
All in all, we reached more than 1,000 audience members, worked with over 20 students, provided work for over a dozen arts professionals, and put forward best practices to represent our incredible community locally, across Quebec and Canada, and abroad.
Looking ahead, we're excited about: A seven-date tour of Efer, participation at international dance festivals, launching our first in-house mentorship program for emerging artists, and creation residency periods both locally and internationally for our new creation (with some news to come!)
