Grief is a journey no one should have to walk alone. Yet, in Alberta, far too many people do—simply because grief support remains inaccessible or unaffordable. At Lean on Me Network Association (LOMNA), we believe that when someone needs help with their grief, the answer should be "yes." Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, the loss of independence for seniors, cultural grief from residential schools in First Nations communities, or individuals with disabilities grieving their lost mobility or potential, grief is a universal experience that deserves compassionate and professional support. We are on a mission to bridge the gaps in grief care across Alberta, and we need your help to make it happen. <h3>Why This Matters</h3>1. Grief is not a mental illness, but it deeply affects mental health. It can lead to job loss, addiction, family breakdowns, and isolation if left unaddressed. 2. There are major gaps in Alberta’s grief support system. Many communities have no local grief therapy options or long waitlists for the few available resources. 3. Funeral homes offer some grief support, but there is no "one size fits all" for how best to offer grief resources.  4. Vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected.
