Support me in the High Hopes Challenge
This year it is my privilege to be competing in the Kids Cancer Care High Hopes Challenge. On Saturday September 10th I will be shaking as I gear up with fearless Savannah, a wonderful young person who has conquered cancer.
My Kid Coach, Savannah, is one tough fourteen-year-old. In February of 2020, Savannah started her cancer journey when she was diagnosed with AML, a form of Leukemia. Fast forward to today, this trooper has battled through 1 dose of radiation, 51 doses of chemotherapy, 26 days in ICU, 122 nights in hospital and way too many fevers, infections, and procedures to count. To say Savannah is tough is an understatement – superhero is more like it.
These special children face challenges no child should have to go through. They must endure countless procedures & treatments, they’re pulled away from family, friends and sports and this is why I am passionate about supporting this cause. I have a nickname, Helping Hands, as I truly believe we are here to serve. As a business leader, I face challenges but nothing that compares to what Savannah, and these incredible children go through as they battle cancer.
I‘ve had the opportunity to attend Camp Kindle and WOW, this is a magical organization that offers such a special support network and facility to kids and families who have been impacted by cancer.
As a challenger, I have teamed up with Savannah (my Kid Coach) to compete against other industry leaders and their kid coaches to raise money in support of KCCF and Camp Kindle. The competition is tough however I know my network will support my Team “Helping Hands” to lead the pack. We have set a minimum goal of $15,000 and I know we’ll surpass this as we compete in this years High Hopes Challenge.

About my Kid Coach, Savannah:
Hi, I’m Savannah. My Cancer journey started February 14,2020 when I was diagnosed with AML. That’s a form of Leukemia. In total I had 1 dose of radiation, 51 doses of chemo, 26 days in ICU, 122 nights in hospital and way too many fevers, infections and procedures to keep count.
Since the end of my treatment, I have been involved in as many Kids Cancer Care activities as I can. With Kids Cancer Care there are no worries. The team keeps all the kids safe based on their medical needs and are understanding with each kid’s different physical and cognitive abilities. I really enjoy the PEER program. Every week I go to an exercise group specifically tailored to kids like me. When I completed my Cancer treatments, I was so weak I could barely walk or do stairs. PEER helped me build strength, endurance and coordination as well as introduced me to other teens that have been through Cancer battles. I have attended a family fun day at Camp Kindle and have registered for the family camp this spring. Camp Kindle is such a special place where families can go and forget about all their worries. I am very excited to be able to go to camp for a whole weekend this year.
Because of my medical history I have decided I want to be a pediatric Oncology Nurse when I grow up. The nurses were like family during my long hospital stays and I want to be there for other children fighting Cancer.
I feel so honored to be chosen as a Kids Coach for the High Hopes challenge. This event helps ensure that kids continue to have these life changing opportunities with Kids Cancer Care. Please consider sponsoring us!
Thank you to our 2022 sponsors
The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta plans to raise approximately $5,200,000 this year from philanthropic individuals, organizations, and grantors. Raising these funds will cost the organization an estimated $1,500,000. All monies raised will be used for board-approved programs and projects that benefit the children and families we serve.
