Our team of four (two cast, two producers/stage manager) will be travelling from Toronto to Edinburgh for 14 days to perform 12 shows of Doctor Faustus.

Get Us to the Show 

Get Us to the Show includes majority of our travel related expenses, which are some of the largest costs of touring a show. Funds received from this stream will allow us to safely and efficiently bring a full scale theatrical production over 5395 km away from home! 

$5 - Bus fare for one cast to venue from accommodation.

$16 - Shuttle for one cast to and from Edinburgh Airport to accommodation.

$62 - Shuttle for all team members to and from Edinburgh Airport to accommodation.

$92 - All transport costs for one cast to and from venue to accommodation.

$150 - Get our gear (props, costumes, set, special effects materials) overseas.

$384 - All non-airline transportation costs for team members. 

$442 - One way ticket for one cast from Toronto, Canada to Edinburgh, UK.

$884 - STRETCH GOAL - Round trip airfare for one cast from Toronto, Canada to Edinburgh, UK.

Onstage

This funding section serves the production costs of putting this production of Doctor Faustus on the stage in Edinburgh. By choosing this funding stream, you will have a direct hand in the final end result audiences will experience. 

$30 - Replace salt circle special effect with chains for Fringe Festival requirements. 

$45 - One day fee for required venue technician.

$150 - Purchase set pieces (table and two chairs) in UK (much less expensive than shipping).

$308 - Edinburgh Fringe Festival services fee.

$506 - Edinburgh Fringe Registration Early Bird Fee 2024 - 6 or more perfomances.

$644 - Venue rental costs for a quarter (¼) of our show run.

$1287 - STRETCH GOAL - Venue rental costs for half (½) of our show run.

The Future of Doctor Faustus

In touring to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we intend to expand our international network of industry professionals and presenters, including pitching our adaptation of Doctor Faustus to international venues. This funding stream is devoted to expanding our reach to capture these potential growth opportunities. 

$75 - Printed access guides for relaxed performances. Relaxed performances will increase the audiences we are able to reach as well as promote the dynamic adaptability of our production. 

$300 - Flyering. Flyering is a form of grassroots advertising core to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. These printed advertisements will be carried around the city to be offered to potential audience members and industry professionals. 

$400 - Postering. Postering is the second tenant of Edinburgh Fringe advertising. Our venue requires as specific number of posters from us. The rest we will splatter across every available board and wall to draw in the crowds.

$1350 - STRETCH GOAL - 1/8th page advertisement in the theatre section of the Edinburgh Fringe Programme. Over 160,000 copies of this guide are distributed across the UK with an estimated 360,000 readership, resulting in a $0.004 cost per view. This ad will help us to crack into the international market by accessing local audiences and industry professionals.
