2024 Can Dos for Kids
You can help children and families affected by cancer by planning & hosting a Can Do for Kids community fundraiser.
What's a Can Do for Kids you might ask? It's an event or initiative organized by someone like YOU or your company that raises money for Kids Cancer Care. The initiative can be as big or as small as you'd like. You decide.
We are so grateful to live in a community, a country, a world that cares. Every day, at Kids Cancer Care, we see people, families and companies make the decision to give back to help children and families affected by cancer. You can do pretty much anything to fundraise for Kids Cancer Care and we'll be there to support you every step of the way!
Opportunities for fundraising are endless! Here are a few ideas that can easily be done virtually or physically distanced:
1. Bottle Drive. Collect your own cans and bottles, empties from your neighbourhood, co-workers, family members, etc. Bring the empties to Trail Bottle Depot and let them know you would like the donation to go to Kids Cancer Care. As easy as that!
2. ‘A-Thons’. Whether it’s a walk-a-thon, bike-a-thon, skate-a-thon, marathon or dance-a-thon, a-thons are a great way to raise awareness and money for a great cause.
3. Be Brave. Cut, colour or shave your lid for a kid with cancer. You can do a Big Brave from the comfort of your own home, or virtually while challenging your co-workers to donate or participate! Click here for more information.
4. Special Occasion. Have a birthday, graduation or anniversary coming up? Instead of gifts, ask for donations to help kids affected by cancer.
The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta is a charitable organization that helps Alberta families fighting childhood cancer. Our programs are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the whole family at each stage in their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
