Big Brothers Big Sisters Gets the Ball Rolling on 50th Anniversary

2023 will be a year to remember! In celebration of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton’s 50th anniversary, we are inviting our community to BOWL FOR GOLD during our annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake Fundraiser. On February 23^rd, 24^th, and 25^th, our dedicated community supporters will join us at Bowlarama Dieppe for an enjoyable family-friendly experience, which promises to be packed with surprises, laughs, and lasting memories. 

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton, our mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. These important developmental relationships give young people access to new opportunities and experiences to build their confidence and expand their idea of what is possible. More importantly, these relationships are protective factors that act as a buffer between children and their adverse childhood experiences, increasing the likelihood of positive youth development. 

Since 1973, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton has ignited the potential of thousands of children and youth through mentoring. In those 50 years, we have continued to evolve and grow in response to the ever-changing needs of the community we serve. The one constant through it all has been our core belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential, and that a meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationship is the key to unlocking that potential so it can be shared with the world. Together, we can work to better the lives of young people and help them navigate this challenging chapter in our history.

• 16 lanes from 4 to 5:15 pm. 
• 16 lanes from 5:45 to 7 pm.

HOW TO CREATE YOUR TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING PAGE

STEP 1 - Start your team or individual fundraising page by clicking on the FUNDRAISE button and set your goal. Help your team reach their goal of $275, or aim even higher to unlock some awesome bonuses:

•              Raise 500$ to earn the special Subway meal  

•              Raise 750$ to add 25 bonus points towards your bowling total 

•              Raise 1000$ to get an edge with gutter bumpers. With those odds, victory is in your sights!

STEP 2 - Get creative/customize your page! Once you complete the online sign-up, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to personalize your team & individual fundraising page. This is an important step! Add a photo, update the text and make your page your own by customizing your description, sharing how long you have been involved with BBBS or why you’re supporting this campaign. If you are a team captain and want to have individual fundraising pages, team members can JOIN YOUR TEAM and create and customize their own page. This is needed if individuals want a personal fundraising link to send out and share. If you are going to fundraise just as a team, then you may not need personal pages.

STEP 3 - Share your fundraising page with your network and ask them to contribute. Send your team or individual fundraising link in an email, text, post on your social media, and ask others to support you in your fundraising. Be sure to TEST THE LINK FIRST. You want to make sure you send the right link so always start with sending the link to yourself in an email or text and then click to make sure it works! Be sure to send out reminders to your potential supporters so they don’t forget to help you out.
