Murney Fest: Celebrating 99 Years of Murney Tower Museum

Join us for Murney Fest, a special event to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the Murney Tower Museum! On Saturday, August 3rd,  we’re bringing the community together for a full day of indoor and outdoor activities, perfect for all ages. 

Come and enjoy a mix of fun, relaxation, and creativity at one of Kingston's most historic landmarks. Here’s the full schedule of events:

9-10 AM: Morning Yoga

Start your day with a refreshing yoga session with Nathan McCready from Studio 330 to energize your body and mind.


10 AM-12 PM: Children's Muster Parade


Join the Fort Henry Guard and learn to march as a Private in the British army.

10-5 PM: Yard Games


Have a blast with classic yard games including lawn bowling, Jenga, and a potato sack race. Fun for all ages!

11 AM-12:30 PM: Learn to Swing Dance! (adult only) 

Get your groove on with this introduction to Lindy Hop, a bouncy, joyful, and swingin' partner dance set to big band jazz tunes of the 1930s and 40s. Queen's Swing Dance Club instructors will lead you through one hour of the basics of Lindy Hop, followed by an optional 30 minutes of unstructured practice.  

11 AM-1 PM: Face Painting and Murney Treasure Hunt

Kids (and kids at heart) can get their faces painted with vibrant designs while searching for hidden treasures at Murney Tower. 

12-2 PM: Make Your Own Spacecraft! 

Join artist Elyse Longair to create your own spacecraft! This activity is offered in conjunction with her work Space Craft Parking Here, which is on view in Playful Encounters through the Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre.

1:30-3:00 PM: Learn to Swing Dance! (adult only)

4-6 PM: Painting in the Park


Express your creativity with an acrylic painting session in the beautiful park setting. What is the subject of your masterpiece? Kingston's one and only, Murney Tower!

And what about food? Mia Gelato and Soup Chef Food Truck will be with us all day!

ADULT DAY PASS (12+): This ticket gets you access to all adult activities and events happening at Murney Fest between 9 AM and 6 PM. Tickets include access to yoga, yard games, community booths, acrylic painting sessions and swing dance lessons. Please note that all workshops are first come first serve, and we cannot guarantee access to any workshops or activities with capacity limits.
