Innomasters Registration 2024: (Biweekly workshops in-person, Jan 21st - April 14th, 1-3 pm)

Event closed

Engineers Without Borders is a non-profit organization which invests in people and scalable social enterprises to disrupt the systems that sustain poverty. Innomasters focuses on providing younger generations with systems thinking and design to help their communities and grow with an engineering perspective to address community issues and deficiencies.

Innomasters is a semester-long in-person mentorship initiative to introduce engineering design concepts to Toronto high school students like you!

In these workshops, you will:

  • Address an opportunity related to 1 of 2 topics: Clean Water and Sanitation & Affordable and Clean energy

  • Approach problems using systems thinking and the EWB perspective

  • Learn about the engineering mindset, identifying opportunities, creating metrics, developing solutions, testing methods, and presentation skills

  • Participate in hands-on workshops with a different focus each workshop. One hour will be focused on activities and learning concepts and the 2nd hour will be dedicated to working with your group to apply concepts learned to your own project! This project could be anything related to the topics (e.g. a curriculum to teach students about clean energy to designing a net zero building)! You will then frame the problem, brainstorm solutions, and develop a design. You will present this design, and your entire design process as a student engineer to mentors, guest judges, and peers at the Design Showcase in April.
