Join The Orillia Silver Band on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 7:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Orillia for a concert featuring renowned Canadian pianist Kyung-A Lee and members of the Orillia Silver Band.

Canadian Pianist Kyung-A Lee joins Music Director Neil Barlow and members of the Orillia Silver Band for this very special event. Discover the enchanting artistry of piano virtuoso Kyung-A Lee as she presents an intimate solo performance of pieces by composers Rachmaninoff, Bach/Busoni, and Chopin. Renowned vocalist Parres Allen joins pianist Lee and members of the band for exciting renditions of Newly and Bricusse’s Feelin’ Good, and Procul Harem’s A Whiter Shade of Pale. Lee and the band have great fun presenting a cover of Guaraldi’s Linus and Lucy from the Peanuts cartoons.

The centrepiece of the concert celebrates the 100th anniversary of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. With delicate precision and passion, Lee and members of the band transport the audience on a captivating journey through Gershwin’s timeless masterpiece, infusing each note with depth and emotion. Immerse yourself in the spellbinding melodies and intricate harmonies of one of the greatest compositions of the 20th century.
