Working Class with Oh Augustine - April 1/3/5

Event closed

Class Description:

In phases and phrases, we will move in the space, working on a variety of coordinations on the floor, out of the floor, and everything in between. Traveling with a sense of release, playing with varieties of transitions, gathering/propelling energies, finding spirals to change directions, using total bodied movement and falling on diagonals.

Teacher Description:

Oh Augustine is a queer emerging contemporary dance artist/teacher/choreographer, currently based on the unceded and occupied Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, and səl̓ílwətaʔ lands. As a graduate of Modus Operandi, they have spent time in rehearsal process with OIS, Shay Kuebler, Khoudia Toure, Chimerik Collective, Okam's Racer, Co.ERASGA, and Zahra Shahab among others, as well as performed in the EDAM Spring Choreographic Series in 2022.

Oh has showcased their work as a choreographer in 12 Minutes Max, Boombox Split Screen, The Happening Accelerate 4.0 alongside Kate Franklin, Studio Salon Series, Chalk It Up! and is the choreographer for the original play, Tomboy, directed by Anais West. Their work explores gender identity, sensation, pleasure, spirituality, and darkness within.
