You're invited to the FANTOM launch party and our first underground community assembly!
Union Française has generously lent us their space, giving all of us the chance to come together and discuss our experiences, challenges, dreams, and ambitions for underground nightlife in Montreal.
6pm doors + opening set by Danai
7pm presentation + Q&A
8-11pm open discussion + DJ sets by SHADYA, Icky Magdala, and Dykeonique
The evening will kick off with a brief presentation on the findings and takeaways from our first nightlife survey, which received over 100+ thoughtful and detailed responses from so many of you.
This event will also be your first chance to sign up for working groups where we will meet on an ongoing basis to develop best practices and resources that will go into one of our first projects: a guidebook for underground organizers and artists.
Come find out what FANTOM is all about, provide feedback on our upcoming projects, and share with us how YOU envision a safer, more inclusive queer/trans/BIPOC/ally Montreal nightlife scene.
The event is free for all, but a $5 donation is appreciated and will go directly to the DJs.
L'Union Française (429 Avenue Viger E)
5-min walk from Berri-UQAM station, wheelchair-accessible
Please note the discussion will be primarily in English.
Who are we?
FANTOM (Fédération pour les arts nocturnes comprenant les travailleur.euses et organisateur.ices de Montréal) is a non-profit collective created by and for Montreal's queer/trans/BIPOC/ally underground nightlife and after-hours artists, workers, and organizers. We fight to ensure the safety, sustainability, and solidarity of a thriving alternative nightlife culture in Montreal through collective action, research, and platforms for knowledge and resource sharing.
