Hi-Skule is a student-run engineering outreach club at the University of Toronto with the aim of informing students about the engineering profession, building the engineering mindset in youth, and facilitating opportunities for mentorship.
We are so excited to our final event of the school year, Break the Case. This event is slightly different from our usual events, as it moves away from talking about technical engineering concepts and towards having a conversation about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in engineering. The goal of this event is to introduce students to EDI and allow them to explore common faults of EDI in the industry and how to address them. There will also be a chance to speak with current undergraduate students, professors, staff and industry professionals from various backgrounds and their journey through engineering.
This event is free and tickets will go on a first-come first-serve basis.
Note: Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all students.
The current structure of the day is as follows:
10:00 AM – Registration
10:30 AM – Keynote/Introduction Speech
11:00 AM – Case Studies & Discussions
12:30 PM – Lunch
01:00 PM – Themed Discussions
02:00 PM – Speed Mentoring
03:00 PM – End
