University of Toronto High School Design Competition

Medical Sciences Building, 1 King's College Cir, Toronto, ON M5S 1A8, Canada

Hi-Skule is a student-run engineering outreach club at the University of Toronto with the aim of informing students about the engineering profession, building the engineering mindset in youth, and facilitating opportunities for mentorship.

UTHSDC is one of Hi-Skule’s largest events of the year where students are guided through the principles of the Engineering Design Process. In a team, students will work to frame a real-world design problem using a requirements model, diverge and converge on potential solutions, and present their final design, competing against other groups to come out on top!

Students will also hear a Keynote Speech from University of Toronto Engineering Professor, Benjamin Kinsella, have the opportunity to talk with the Engineering Recruitment Office about the admission processes, requirements, and scholarships, and view cool robots from First Robotics teams. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

We encourage students to bring a personal device (laptop/tablet) if they have access to one. However, this is not mandatory. We will configure wifi access to allow students to connect to the internet. No specialized software will be needed.

Registration closes on Thursday, November 23rd at noon EST. Team selection is done through a form sent to you after registration. Only one person per team needs to fill out the form. The form for team declaration closes on November 23rd at 5:00 PM.
