The vActory Series is a short-form, cabaret-style presentation series. For its second season, three Asian Canadian artists are invited to create a 15 to 20-minute long performance at What Lab in East Vancouver.
This year’s presentations are:
Grantwriting l0l facilitated by Gloria Fukomachiby June Fukumura
Written in Water by Mermaid Li
Rainbow Glaze Tile by Shervin Zarkalam
Content note: Written in Water has body movements that depict intense themes such as attempted suicide, war, death, sword fighting, forced marriage, and murder. This piece will use incense.
Accessibility:
What Lab is located at 1814 Pandora Street. There is no dedicated parking, only street parking. The venue is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs, but there is a ground level accessible entrance through the back of the building. If anyone needs to use this entrance, please let us know at info@vact.ca. There is one single-occupancy, gender-inclusive washroom. The washroom is not big enough for larger style wheelchairs to completely turn around in while the door is open.
This in-person event has limited space. Please let us know at info@vact.ca right away if you are no longer able to attend, ideally NOT the day, so we can release your spot to other folks looking to attend vActory.
