This event brings together passionate community advocates to explore strategies for fostering diverse and inclusive leadership. Panelists will share insights on breaking down systemic barriers, the power of mentorship, and the critical role young leaders play in shaping decision-making spaces.

Through thought-provoking discussions, attendees will gain practical knowledge and tools to navigate governance structures, advocate for meaningful representation, and drive lasting change. Whether you’re an aspiring board member, a seasoned leader, or an ally committed to equity, this is an opportunity to connect, learn, and help redefine leadership for the future.

Panelists:
Dr. Jennifer Braun – Assistant Professor of Sociology at Concordia University of Edmonton and Steering Committee member for Fora’s Rise on Boards program. With over six years of governance experience, she specializes in EDI-focused leadership training and bridging academia with nonprofit governance.

Ziyana Kotadia – Strategic Communications & Public Relations Specialist at Shift: The Project to End Domestic Violence and Young Director with Fora. A gender justice advocate, she has advised on national policy, serves on multiple nonprofit boards, and was a 2024 Alberta Top 30 Under 30 honoree.

Sumira Duggal – Senior Manager of HR Partnerships & Programs at Canadian Western Bank and Co-Lead of CWB Global, an ERG supporting newcomers. Passionate about mentorship, she helps foreign-trained professionals transition their skills into the Canadian workforce.
