Class Description:
Acrobatics for Dancers:
This class will allow participants to combine acrobatics with their dance/movement practice. We’ll start from the ground up, focusing on body alignment, hand grips, conditioning, and technique, while also exploring transitions through meditative movement. You’ll learn progressions and fun tricks for your practice or performances, with options for L basing, standing moves, and proper spotting techniques.
Led by Marissa Wong and Eric McKeethen, the class emphasizes connection and partnership to expand your movement and dynamism. This holistic approach ensures you build a strong foundation and progress safely, all while enjoying the pleasure of dance.
No previous acrobatic experience or partner necessary.
Teacher Description:
Marissa and Eric are experienced movement practitioners who combine their expertise in dance, acrobatics, and partner work to create dynamic standing acrobatic workshops and performances. They bring a unique fusion of artistry and athleticism, blending dance, aerial arts, parkour and acrobatics into a cohesive, fluid practice.
Their classes integrate technique with creative expression, allowing participants to explore the physical and artistic aspects of movement. Whether working with beginners or experienced practitioners, they foster an environment of exploration and trust by offering progressions tailored to the individual. Classes share the fundamentals of acro while encouraging fluidity and confidence.
