Our six-week program empowered 27 system-impacted BIPOC/AAPI girls and gender non-conforming NYC high school students by creating paid opportunities and providing essential resources. With your support, we offered:
- Resources: Free Chromebooks, lunches, and essential supplies to ensure every participant had the tools needed to thrive.
- Artist Engagement: Hands-on sessions with leading artists like Tauba Auerbach, Lena Henke, Maria de Victoria, and Julia Norton, offering unique mentorship and creative inspiration.
- Industry Professional Workshops: Guidance from top industry leaders such as Ebony L. Haynes, Gia Kuan, Marcella Zimmerman, and Seth Stolbun, preparing students for careers in the arts.
- Field Trips: Visits to cultural landmarks, including the Brooklyn Museum and Canal Street Projects, immersing students in the heart of New York's creative landscape.
- Skill Development: Training in professional writing, LinkedIn profile creation, and Canva design, equipping students with valuable, marketable skills.
