This donation will help us to achieve our mission of saving horses from being shipped to Mexico for slaughter. We'll be able to provide feed, hay and alfalfa, shelter, veterinary care, farrier services and training for the  31 horses we have already saved from the slaughter pipeline. And we will be able to care for several new foals who will be arriving soon!  We purchase unwanted and discarded horses from auctions and kill pens.  Legacy Ranch and Rescue, Inc., with the help of generous donors, has saved old horses, very young foals, and Belgian draft horses who can no longer work,  We have rescued several mustang mares with foals who were rounded up by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and sent to auction, then on to kill pens.  All these horses have a second chance at life at Legacy Ranch, where they are safe, well fed, and properly managed.  Our goal is to stop the shipment of horses to slaughter altogether, and to save as many as we can in the meantime.
