Donate to NW Community Food to Make a Difference

What We Do: Since May 2021, NW Community Food has been helping people in Washington, DC who are struggling to afford food and other life essentials.*

* We host a food pantry every Sunday in the Van Ness neighborhood of NW Washington, DC.

We deliver groceries to disabled and older neighbors in Ward 3.

*We serve low-income families with young children, seniors on fixed incomes, people with disabilities, refugees, and hard-working people whose wages are low.

Fresh Produce: We always provide fresh fruit and vegetables. Our neighbors in need have told us how important nutrition is to them.

Shelf-Stable Food: We provide a selection of canned and boxed food staples. We have a partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank.

Prepared Food: We distribute surplus prepared food, bread, and baked goods sourced through our partnership with Food Rescue US.

Household Cleaning and Personal Hygiene Supplies: These supplies are expensive and vital to good health, so we offer them to pantry visitors.

Why We Need Cash Donations: Our all-volunteer pantry receives donations of food and cleaning supplies from the community, local stores, and non-profit partners, but not in the quantities necessary to serve the many pantry visitors. We need to purchase discounted household cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items, as well as food, packaging, bags, and insurance. Your donation will make it possible to advance our mission.

Every contribution helps.

*NW Community Food now is an independent 501(c)(3) charity. When this pantry began in 2021, it was called Feed the Family and its fiscal sponsor was the International Women's Democracy Center (IWDC). We appreciate the past sponsorship of IWDC.
