I am writing to you on behalf of the SDR World Relief Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of Individuals with Disabilities, At-Risk Youth, and Homeless Individuals seeking to gain skills to enter the workforce. We are currently seeking financial support for our Film Production & Acting Skills-Building Program and the production of a documentary highlighting the inspiring work of the Yes To More Life organization in Riverside, California with consumers with disabilities.   Located in Sacramento, California, our Skills-building Program goal is to empower individuals with disabilities, youth, and those who are displaced from their homes seeking a new skill by providing them with hands-on training in various aspects of filmmaking, including scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, and acting. Through this program, we strive to enhance their creative abilities, boost their self-confidence, and equip them with valuable skills that can lead to future employment opportunities.   Participants attend online and in-person classes to gain knowledge of their craft. At the end of each session, participants come together with production professionals to create a film or documentary project utilizing the skills and knowledge they have gained. Our current project is a documentary about the Yes To More Life organization in Riverside, California. Yes To More Life is a day program that offers a safe and nurturing environment for individuals with disabilities. They provide a wide range of activities and support services, including the Arts as a tool to enhance and promote confidence, personal growth, independence, and community integration. By producing a documentary on their incredible work, we aim to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and the coaches who provide services to them and highlight the importance of inclusive programs like Yes To More Life. Through powerful storytelling and compelling interviews, we aim to raise awareness, provoke conversations, and inspire positive change.
