College Promise relies on funds from generous donors to advocate for stronger, more inclusive postsecondary education tuition assistance and supports and to provide resources, training, and technical assistance to programs delivering those supports so they can be used to support as many students as possible.
We are a national, nonpartisan, non-profit initiative that builds broad public support for funding the first two or more years of postsecondary education for hard-working students and ensuring those students have access to quality educational opportunities and supports.
Over the past 10 years, the College Promise movement has grown sevenfold to 441 local communities in all 50 states. Promise programs now deliver tuition-free college opportunities and supports such as childcare, counseling, and transportation that make attending college possible for more people than ever. We want to build on this progress.
Our ultimate vision is to eliminate every financial and systemic barrier to an affordable, quality postsecondary education with essential student supports. We want to give our nation’s hardworking students the time and resources they need to focus on their studies, graduate sooner, and advance in the workforce and the rest of their lives. In doing so, we will reduce the inequities that hold students back and unleash the talent pipeline for a far more prosperous nation in the 21st century.
