Join the Provincetown Public Art Foundation, partnering with the Bryant Family in supporting the creation of a rotating public art display site for installations that creatively explore wind power. George Bryant, family icon and Provincetown historian, championed pre-industrial craftsmanship his whole life and sought to recreate Provincetown’s historic wind powered salt works.
For our first project on the site of the former Bryant Salt Works, the Provincetown Public Art Foundation has commissioned area artist, Andrew Mowbray, whose installations are in the collections of the MFA and the ICA to install for the summer of 2023, his Wind Driven Drawing Machine. The sculpture device generates drawings which are designed and created by the force and direction of the wind.
This installation seeks to connect Provincetown’s past to its future and recognize the power and presence of wind in shaping and defining the coastal environment.
Your donation in support would be greatly appreciated. The Provincetown Public Art Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible.
