The Center for Inspired Learning is working to transform public elementary schools in Washington State. The goal is to transition from the age-based, standardized model to a 21st-century multi-age individualized model. Schools that have implemented this type of system have found that it creates curious learners, reinforces positive community connections, improves test scores, and better prepares students for life, work, and a happy, fulfilling life.
Such learning environments promote connectivity and discourage anti-social behavior, thus positively impacting mental health, reducing or eliminating bullying, and giving children the inner resources to face challenging circumstances in productive and healthy ways.
This can all be done with existing budgets, staffing, and infrastructure.
We are asking you to support this effort by making a tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)3 nonprofit. The funds we raise will be used to:
1) Create a teacher training program for learner-centered education in public schools.
2) Train existing teachers on how to teach in a learner-centered classroom.
3) Community outreach and education.
4) Give grants to schools for costs associated with transitioning to the learner-centered model, including technology, classroom redesign, and other associated costs.
5) Create a feedback loop where successes and failures are identified, learned from, and used to improve the transition to the learner-centered model in other schools.
6) Administration costs (not to exceed 20% of our budget).
The Center for Inspired Learning is part of a broad nonpartisan movement to transform education in the United States, which includes Education Reimagined, Education Evolving, and Learner-Centered Collaborative. You can read more about the crisis in WA State schools by clicking HERE.
We hope you will consider making a donation to help create a better and brighter future for children in Washington State.
