Maternal Health is an area that is is over saturated but still deprived of sustainable change especially in the global south . According to UN's SDG's, Ethiopia is one of the member states that is working toward improving Maternal Mortality Rates to less than 70 out of 100,000 by 2023. As of 2017, Ethiopia's MMR's were still exponentially high sitting at 412 out of 100,000. While there are many layers to the challenges that reproductive health care systems are facing in Ethiopia, the additional socio- economic circumstance make it more difficult for these health systems to support positive health outcomes.

Friends of Zewditu is a global partnership between Zewditu Labor and Delivery Ward and international health advocates that was established to help meet these inequities. This partnership developed program with a three teared approach, focusing on sanitation, organization, and the fulfillment of physical medical equipment. We hope to improve the Maternal and gynecological health outcomes of Zewditu's Labor and Delivery Ward.

In order to implement our program we have teamed up with MATTER NGO, Yene Foundation; a community based foundation striving to improve access to health resources, and Yene Health; a Fem-Techstart up addressing reproductive health gapsbased in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Currently we are looking to send a cargo of medical equipment ranging from hospital beds to ultrasound machines as well as individualized kits of smaller medical containing essential medical supplies like stethoscopes and syringes. The costs of those items are as follows:

1 Cargo shipped to Zewditu Medical Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia| Cost for Entire Cargo: $50,000

100 medical kits that will travel through air | Cost for Individual Kit ($100)
