This has been a very challenging time for Automata and the many small nonprofit arts organizations dedicated to new work development and presentation.
Until recently, we had been unable to gather in person for over two years. During this time, we have offered our space to artists for 2 to 3 week individual artist residencies, supporting creative process and new work development. Moving forward, we will continue hosting residencies as a core element of our programming, but we have begun to offer in-person events starting Fall 2022, and hope to continue to do so into 2023, as long as we can do so safely.
