Support Virtual Education for TigraySince 2020, war and siege on Tigray has devastated social and economic infrastructures and particularly targeted health and education systems and services. As a result more than 2.4 million children have been shut off, out of school and any other meaningful educational opportunities. With no school supplies, ruined schools, and no teachers to guide or tutor young kids, their well-being and growth has been compromised. They have been traumatized by war and their intellectual growth and welfare impaired. Remote TV broadcast is an important education delivery vehicle employed throughout the world often to complement, in person and conventional educational delivery, but in some limiting circumstances, such as the case in Tigray, it serves as a critical fill gap platform.
Horn Broadcasting Services (HBS) with the aim to help alleviate this crisis, developed a remote education program, adopted a universal curriculum, collected, curated lessons from open sources and began broadcasting since September 2022 and has been reaching out to thousands of children teaching Science, Math, English, reading and well-being. In addition HBS supports free and independent public media and provides a platform for content providers with equitable access and support to air their work on arts culture and sports, health, economy, technology, community engagement, peace building and global connection.
By supporting HBS Remote Education, you help teach young minds, heal, grow and open gates of opportunities!
