Your donation, no matter the size, can make such an impact on the work we do to help horses in need. Every horse accepted into BAHR is given a veterinary exam, updated in all vaccines, dental exam/float, feet trimmed, and diet nutritionally balanced according to their needs. If the horse is in need of physical rehabilitation, the cost can run into the $1000's. Although we are not a sanctuary for long term residents, each horse will stay with us until we find them a matched home we feel is ideal. This can take weeks, months, or even years. We estimate the basic cost of keeping a horse to be $4500-$5000 per year, barring any special needs.
$20 could buy enough hay to feed a horse for a week
$50 will pay to get a horse's feet trimmed
$100 could by enough grain for a horse for a month
$250 will pay for a new horse's veterinary exam
We value each and every one of you for making the effort to help us provide a safe and healthy future for our equines.
