The Carpentries encompasses the lesson programs Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry. The Carpentries operates globally to bring researchers the skills they need to transform data into knowledge. Our lesson materials are openly available and collaboratively developed by a community dedicated to increasing the accessibility of these skills and the diversity of people who use them. We develop and maintain lessons in foundational computation and data science skills and offer pedagogical training to Instructors, empowering positive and effective peer-to-peer instruction. A truly amazing community has grown around our mission, and together, we have trained over 4,500 Instructors and offered over 4,400 workshops in 68 countries on all 7 continents.
We work daily to bring training to more people, expand our resources, support our community, and maintain the quality and relevance of our material. We depend on financial support from individuals and organisations to continue to provide these resources and expand our impact. We welcome the support you can give once, weekly, or monthly.

The Carpentries empowers a diverse global community by equipping individuals with essential data and computational skills. We promote efficient, open, and reproducible research practices. By fostering collaborative development of openly available lessons and research-informed teaching methods, we build an inclusive network of practitioners and advocates who emphasise the critical role of software and data in advancing research.
