Last week a lady called me, desperate for a place to live. Her abuser had tried to kick her door down the night before. She has a 1-yr old and is now in a high-risk pregnancy. She can't work because of that. She is being evicted for lack of rent payment, and her abuser is threatening her life. Our acquisition a 13,000 sq. ft. building is underway. We are currently working with our contractor on design and budget.  Once reconstructed this building will be able to house up to 10 families (women and their children), giving them a safe place to heal after the ravages of intimate partner abuse. Your gift is making it possible to provide affordable housing and supportive services for these homeless families. Your on-going monthly support will make sure we can provide critical services to empower these women to thrive. We have recently received approval from the zoning board to establish Hope House in a residential area in Carlisle. The property is about 13,000 sq. ft. We will be able to reconstruct this space to housing up to 10 women and their children for one to two years. We will have a common cooking area, living space, counseling room, play room, library and many more amenities all aimed to help these families overcome the complex trauma they have experienced.
