Project TAHA is a nonprofit registered in the State of Texas in the process of having our 501(c)(3) tax exemption recognized by the IRS (we hope to obtain such certification by the end of 2025).

Project TAHA is a pro bono non-profit defending the rights and dignity of individuals facing oppression in some of the world's most dire human rights crises. 

Our Executive Director, Maria Kari, represents:

1. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui pro bono alongside co-counsel Clive Stafford Smith;

2. International students targeted by the Trump administration for engaging in lawful political expression;

3. Americans trapped in Gaza;

4. Americans wrongly detained overseas;

5. Individuals who've fled war and are lawfully seeking asylum in the US.

Project TAHA is not beholden to any stakeholders, which allows us to take on the cases of society's most vilified and overlooked. Our work has led us to courtrooms, political forums, and media outlets, where we leverage our expertise and passion to create meaningful change.

While we will never charge clients for our legal representation, legal, political, and media advocacy is resource and time-intensive, and impact litigation is expensive. Your donation will directly help fund our administrative and operational costs. We rely on the generosity of people like you to continue our work.
