PLEASE READ OUR STORY.

My name is Maram Altawil, 22 years old. l was a medical student at Alazhar University. l completed four years of study and was two years away from graduating. I was very excited for the day when I would announce that I am officially a doctor but the war came and destroyed everything for me - all my hard work, my future & everything I looked forward to. 

We are now on day 192 of the war & I can't believe what life is for us. The devastation is still very unreal. I have been displaced three times now, searching for safety after our humble home ( my sweet home) was bombed by the occupation, along with my dreams, memories, and the warmth I used to feel there. I haven't only lost my home but also many friends and family members. This is my house that was bombed by the merciless occupation. It became reduced to rubble. All my work, everything I took pride in as a med student, my books, my research, and all my certificates that remained in our home - destroyed. They destroyed my father's workplace & every bit of our stability - can you imagine going from your life, to ours...overnight? My family has not received income for 6 months, and we live in uncertainty everyday. 

Yesterday, April 24th, 2024 - we were bombed again. My mother was injured in the bombing. Luckily, after 4 years of med school, I was able to treat her wounds and thank God, she is alive to see another day. This is my mother now: 

Our situation is getting worse with time, and we have reached the point where we are waiting for food aid.The university was destroyed and our teaching hospital was destroyed"Al-Shifa Medical Complex", leaving us unable to complete our studies and graduate to serve our people.In these harrowing times, we earnestly seek your assistance to evacuate me and my family from Gaza and escape this heinous genocide.And also to to continue my education in Egypt. Our aspiration is to return to our beloved Gaza fully equipped to aid our people, especially those who have suffered injuries during this tragic war.
