Dear JFK family and friends,
3 short years ago JFK was born.
Born out of necessity, during a moment of craziness and chaos in the world.
3 short years later, our JFK community has come so far, developing as close family that davens together, celebrates together, shares joy together, and supports each other in times of need.
For so many, JFK La Brea is the community and shul we could only have dreamed about, yet so desperately needed as we were growing up.
JFK is based on a simple yet powerful idea. A shul and a community should be a place where you know you belong, brings close rather than judge, is composed of participants and not spectators, every member is called to lead and share.
We are now for our next critical stage of growth. Through the support and generosity of many we have commitments to cover the monthly rent of a great space at 6711 Melrose Ave.
Our new space now needs your support to be transformed into a Shul. Renovations to convert the office space into a welcoming and warm home for JFK La Brea.
We are seeking with your generosity to raise $75,000 to make our dream a reality!
Your support will enable:
- demo the current offices configuration and create an open and warm space.
- An AC system to ensure a comfortable space
- Mechitzas
- New tables & chairs. Bookshelves
- A safe for the Sefer Torahs
- New bima and aron hakodesh
- Security deposit
- Kiddush preparation room (Refrigerator, serving utensils, Shabbos Hot Water Urn)
- Security upgrades to the space
- Hot water urns for shabbat coffee
- Purchase and installation of security cameras
- Mezuzahs
Please reach out to discuss specific dedication opportunities.
We REALLY believe in our group, our mission and want to continue creating great memories.
We know we have only started this journey and so many more are seeking a community like ours.
We love you guys and all the joy, happiness and shenanagins you've brought into our life
