2024 Flying Pig Festival Kiss-A-Pig Contest

The nominations are in and we are excited to feature our top 5 candidates for the inaugural Flying Pig Festival Kiss-A-Pig Contest! Donations are now open and whichever candidate brings in the most bacon (has the highest number of donations) will be the lucky winner who gets to pucker-up to a porcine on Saturday, June 15th! To make it even more fun, nominees can also buy Kiss-A-Pig insurance to try and buy their way out of their swine smooches! 

Meet the Candidate- Rose Jordan

Rose Jordan is the Director of Tourism at the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce and ours her heart and soul into all things Mineral Wells. She probably has the largest collection of Flying Pigs in Palo Pinto county too! 

Here are some of our favorite things that the people who nominated Rose had to say: 

- Rose Jordan LOVES pigs (actually obsessed) and has been instrumental in helping us make pigs fly in Mineral Wells.  She believes in big pig dreams and will Squeal with excitement if she were picked, not to mention we would have a lot of people go hog wild in supporting her on this pig kissing endeavor.  I personally am ready to see her pucker up with a pig we could nickname “Buttercup” or even “‘Posie” with good ole’ Rosie!!

-No one lives, breathes and believes in Mineral Wells quite like Rose Jordan! Plus, she's a squeal of a good time and will have an absolute BLAST if she gets to kiss a little piggy! 

-She loves pigs so much and does so much for the town. I wouldn't know a better person that should be nominated!!

-Because it would make her whole year if she gets to kiss a pig, especially if it is wearing wings! 

Kiss-A-Pig Rules: The process is simple, if you want to see Rose give a big ol smooch to a swine then leave a donation! The candidate with the highest donation amount will be announced Saturday, June 15th at 3:00 pm at the Flying Pig Festival in historic Downtown Mineral Wells! Candidates can also purchase Kiss-A-Pig Insurance to buy themselves out of kissing the pig or to put towards someone else! All donations are tax-deductible and will be used to fund community events in historic Downtown Mineral Wells! 

About the Festival: The Flying Pig Festival was founded in 2024, but its history dates back much further. For years many people have proclaimed The Baker Hotel aka "The Grand Old Lady of Mineral Wells" would make her reappearance "when pigs fly". But if you know anything about Mineral Wells, then you know nothing is too crazy for this little town to tackle. Pigs are certainly flying in Mineral Wells and the "Flying Pig" has become synonymous with the rebirth, revitalization and big dreams coming true across the city. In honor of those same big dreams, Downtown Mineral Wells is excited to introduce the inaugural Flying Pig Festival. Pigs are flying in the craziest little town in Texas and we invite you to come join in on the fun!
