A Community Call to Action

In the heart of our vibrant community, St. Catherine Laboure, has been a beacon of hope, love, and learning for over six decades. With its diverse student body, the school reflects the rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and backgrounds that make our community so uniquely different from any other Catholic school in our area.  Here, children learn not just academics, but the values of compassion, respect, and unity.

However, we are facing an unprecedented challenge. Financial constraints have put our beloved school at risk, jeopardizing the very foundation that supports our students’ education and development. We were very blessed when the Empower Illinois Tax Scholarship came out. It helped fund many students' education and helped us attract and retain many students that might not normally seek out Catholic education. When that program ended, we were left with many families unable to continue to pay for their education. We started our own scholarship program through the Father Murphy Fund, but it did not cover as much of the cost of tuition for the same amount of families. We are diligently working towards new goals to help raise enrollment, but change takes time and right now we are not being given the time allotted to do so. Without immediate support, we could lose not only our school but also the close-knit community that has thrived within its walls. We are seeking this amount of money to ensure we have the time to rebuild our dream over the next three years.
