At LiberArte, we envision a thriving planet where all beings experience joy and harmony with each other and Mother Earth. This is why we support artists and creatives who embody this vision in their daily lives to help share their magic and wisdom with the world.
In our second year's programming, we are supporting the renowned AfroColombian traditional folk music group, Tambacum, by coordinating their North American tour introducing their unique and impactful music genres of Tamborito and Cumbancha to the U.S. for the very first time. By bringing their wisdom to the States, we will not only provide essential global solidarity actions as a (self-proclaimed) "first-world" country, we will also provide a pathway to healing for our communities in the U.S. who will be inspired by Tambacum's way of life, values and connection to the natural world through their music, dialogues, panel discussions and workshops.
Tambacum's music is not only a celebration of cultural heritage but alsoa powerful expression of unity, joy, and reverence for the universal human experience in connection to the Earth. Tambacum’s music is steeped in African heritage while rooted in Nuquí, Chocó, delivering both original compositions and ancestral melodies. They have earned accolades such as being the 1st place winners of the 2021 National Colombian Festival for Traditional and Campesino Music, participating in the qualifiers for the 2023 Petronio Alvarez Festival, and gracing numerous festivals along the Pacific coast region.
THE CHALLENGE:
Although we've hit important milestones in the journey, such as securing passports for the members of the group, official letters of recommendation, a engagement schedule with tentative bookings, and are starting to be accepted to the many grants we've applied to, in order to bring their transformative music to the U.S., we need to fill a funding gap for artist fees, meals and local transportation totaling $7,000. While grant funding and ticket sales shows are expected, these funds won't cover the full trip expenses.
We're turning to you, our beloved community of arts and Earth supporters to make this important work possible.
With your donation you'll have exclusive access to Tambacum's shows once they are in the U.S.
With your donation we'll be able to provide ...
Join us in empowering Tambacum's U.S. tour by pledging your support today. By investing in this transformative initiative, you become a catalyst for cultural exchange, community building, and positive change. Together, we can co-create a more inclusive, empathetic, and vibrant world through the universal language of music and art.
