It's our turn to support Brandon and demonstrate that we stand with him as he embarks on the path to healing. <img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/hxn9dbuhd/image/upload/v1730358397/osrkvekcbjoksi1bkknv.jpg" style="width:600px;display:block;vertical-align:top;margin:5px auto;text-align:center" />What We Know: His name is Brandon Redd, and he is a Hero in need of our help. Not only is Brandon a 22-year-old Firefighter for the City of St. George, but he is also a military service member of the United States Marine Corps. On Wednesday October 30th around 11:00am, Brandon was on duty at the St. George Fire Department when tragedy struck. Brandon was given the orders to drive the departments antique 1948 Ahrens-Fox fire engine from SGFD Fire Station 10 over to Fire Station 9. Shortly after leaving Station 10 on his way to Station 9 Firefighter Brandon Redd noticed something was not quite right with the fire engine. While approaching an intersection, Brandon immediately noticed that despite his efforts, he was unable to slow down the heavy apparatus. Unable to stop, Brandon attempted to navigate the antique apparatus through the intersection which is when he was violently T-boned by a large SUV. When the SUV collided with the front driver side of the 1948 Ahrens-Fox that does not have any form of safety restraints, Firefighter Brandon Redd was ejected from the open cab of the fire truck and thrown across the roadway. When 911 was notified of the collision, the emergency responders called to the scene were none other than his own crew who were waiting for his arrival in the antique engine. Brandon was rushed to the emergency room at the Saint George Regional Medical Center by ambulance and later admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. The extent of his injuries is still being evaluated. However, we do know that he is stable and has both feeling and motor functions of all his extremities. We were informed that Brandon has suffered at least one broken vertebrate in his back, and he has some complications with his respiratory system. The surgeons are suggesting at least one spinal operation as of right now. As more information is gathered, we will try to update you all! ** UPDATE ** 10/31- Brandon is going to be receiving a treatment involving putting concrete in his spine to attempt to promote a proper healing of the vertebrate.
