Members of Portland State University’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors (PSU-AAUP) have been bargaining and rallying tirelessly to win just wages, stronger job and layoff protections, reasonable workloads, racial equity compensation, and enhanced member benefits for faculty and staff. For over 100 hours of bargaining, PSU administration has continued to stall on key issues for settling a fair contract, forcing nearly 1,200 of us to prepare for an upcoming strike.
If PSU’s administration forces us to strike, we need your help to ensure that our members can win the conditions faculty, staff, and students deserve without undue financial hardship. Your donation to the Strike Solidarity Fund directly supports PSU-AAUP members facing financial strain during a strike.
The PSU administration has spent endless lobbying efforts securing over $1 billion for construction since 2010 but cries poverty when it’s time to pay its workers. Right now Portland State Board members who are also real estate developers with huge conflicts of interest are pushing painful cuts on PSU-AAUP members, and stalling negotiations, investing in concrete and steel instead of people. Together, we can help bring PSU and Oregon public Higher Ed back to its values.
Every contribution makes a difference. Stand with us in solidarity—because when educators thrive, our students and community do too. Our working conditions are students learning conditions.
Ways to get involved:
Donate and share our strike fund with colleagues and community.
Email the PSU Board of Trustees and President Cudd to invest in PSU faculty and staff instead of concrete and steel.
Follow us on Facebook, X, Instagram, and our website for additional ways to stand in solidarity.
