Update: Jesus passed away shortly after 7:45 PM last night. In his passing, he has given the ultimate gift: the opportunity for life to others through organ donation. His final journey down the "Hall of Heroes" at Sharp Hospital, accompanied by the CAL FIRE Honor Guard and firefighters from Fox Fire Center, was a profound and honorable tribute. The amazing staff at Sharp ensured this solemn moment was carried out with the utmost respect.

This week, Firefighter Jesus Casanova, a true hero, took an unexpected turn for the worse and is now in the ICU at Sharp Coronado Hospital. Currently he is being removed from life support. In his final act of service, Jesus will be donating his organs—leaving behind an incredible legacy of generosity and selflessness.

As a community, we have the opportunity to honor Firefighter Casanova's sacrifice and support his grieving family during this unimaginable time. Cal Fire San Diego and L2881 are working tirelessly to assist the Casanova family with funeral arrangements and other immediate needs.

We are asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $10,000 through the CalFire Firefighters San Diego Benevolent Corporation (501c3). We have exceeded our goal and currently have a targeted goal for $15,000. Your donation will directly provide comfort and relief to the Casanova family, showing them that they are not alone.

This is our chance to come together, as Jesus would have for any of us, and show the strength of our community.
