Aslan has always been and will always be about Love! In 1971, Lynn Ann and I loaded up our Plymouth Belvedere with a few earthly possessions and took off for parts unknown. Our first stop was Abilene, Texas, where we waved goodbye to a friend who would drive our Plymouth back home for us. We stepped onto a elderly, light blue school bus and began to wind our way across Texas on our way to New Jersey.  We had no idea this was the beginning of our life's calling. With barely a penny between us, we were just two young kids, twenty-three & twenty-two, following God the best as we knew how. Now we find ourselves almost fifty years later trying our best to keep the dream of Aslan Youth Ministries going. Twenty-three and twenty-two has become seventy-six and seventy-five! But despite the many scars of many battles, the dream has not dimmed. As long as we have breath to breathe and can put one foot in front of the other . . . as long as there are disadvantaged children who need our help to realize their great value in God's eyes . . . our lives will be dedicated to the dreams and ideals that God has surely placed in our hearts.

At our age (and a lot younger), most people are retired. It's for sure that life would be a whole lot easier, but God has not given the two of us permission to take that step. We are doing our best to fight the good fight and keep this ministry of love going. We have always believed Aslan Youth Ministries should outlive Lynn Ann and me. But that's up to God. For now, it is up to the two of us to give all of our hearts - to today and to tomorrow. 

On November 16, Lynn Ann and I will be walking five kilometers (5K). Every step will be taken for these Aslan children that the two of us are privileged to serve here in Monmouth County and in Haiti. Perhaps there will one day be a time when our knees and joints will prevent us from taking these steps, but we pray that day will not come soon. Our prayer is also that each and everyone of you who read this will walk with us by supporting our every step. We need to have a huge outpouring of love and support between now and this Christmas. We promise you that there is no better investment you can make than investing in the lives of our Aslan kids through Aslan Youth Ministries.
