On Friday, February 23 from 7-10 pm, the Sigma Cares Foundation, in collaboration with its community partners, presents the return of the Black History Month Celebration known as “Jazz, Jeans, and More: Music and Movement Through the Ages.” This adults only event, which will be hosted at Positive Change Newark, is striving to present a top-notch experience which includes the following:
Dynamic Entertainment:
An elite jazz band, complete with world-class singing, will provide the soundtrack to the night. Prepare to take part in an experience that will empower and exhilarate.
Additionally, selected spoken word artists will present their exceptional presentations focused on our cultural origins, our pain and triumph, and our bright future ahead.
In the spirit of unity, members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. will also provide spirited step and stroll exhibitions.
Additional surprises and entertainment still to be announced–you won’t want to miss it!
A Taste of the Diaspora:
While supplies last, there will be sample-sized tastings provided by local culture-centric cuisiniers. Get there early and check out the options ranging from Caribbean, African, Soul Food, and much more!
Additionally, a curated selection of vendors–including natural skincare, African cloth and jewelry, Greek Paraphernalia, and Mens’ furnishings, among others, will be on site with exclusive goods available for purchase.
An Opportunity for Impact:
While this is an adults-only night out and an opportunity to fellowship, this event also brings together a community of cultural, educational, and community-focused influencers. Also, your ticket purchase includes a partial tax-deductible donation to the Sigma Cares Foundation, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the communities in which it serves.
