The Jim Richmond Backcountry Aviation Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, expanding, and protecting public backcountry aviation access for current and future generations of aviators.
We do this primarily by acquiring private property in remote areas, developing any necessary aviation infrastructure, and then opening those properties to the public for recreation and enjoyment, while also working hard to understand and preserve the history of the sites that we acquire.
We teach the general public about the importance of backcountry aviation and educate pilots on the best practices for flying in the backcountry. We use our backcountry aviation knowledge, experience, and access to help other backcountry stakeholders in areas like natural resource management, search & rescue, medivac, fire protection, and law enforcement to accomplish missions for the overall good of the entire backcountry community.
Thank you, we appreciate your support!
