This concert presents the music of three artists and mystical poets: Meera Bai, Kabir, and Amir Khusru. The music and songs of these artists represent a pinnacle of mystical and philosophical insight, but presented through the language and emotions of basic human experience. From the pang of separation to the ecstasy of union with the divine, these artists express and make tangible abstract mystical insights. They reveal their own personal struggles and offer a mirror for the highest aspirations. Through dance and music, this concert will present the work of these artists, connecting the across the centuries, and appealing to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
