"Twelfth Night" by William Shakespeare
It is thanks to you all for your patience and continued support, that we have navigated out-of-control circumstances and challenges to come back from September to November bring a stage reading with music and costumes to workshop an abridged and cabaret production of Twelfth Night.
Shakespeares' greatest and queerest romantic play takes center stage in the heart of the East Village of NYC at WOW Cafe Theater for three starry nights.
Viola and Sebastian are twins who are separated in a shipwreck and believe the other to be dead. While grieving this loss, Viola creates the drag persona of “Cesario” to start life anew by working in the service of the sensational Duke Orsino of Illyria, an island full of cabaret and clubs. Duke Orsino sends Viola to act as a messenger between him and his infatuation Lady Olivia the burlesque queen, only for Viola to be caught in a love triangle. Experience the drama unfold with this tale about the illusion of looks, the pure love of the heart, and epiphanies.
