Seattle Natya Utsav,  is Seattle’s first dance conference: a space for dancers, teachers, and dance enthusiasts to come together and celebrate India’s classical dance forms.

When: May 11th, 2024, 1:30 pm -8:30 pm

Where: Highland Community Center in Bellevue, WA.

Seating starts at 1 pm.

  • Performance and presentation on Banis by Bhargavi Bharata Natyalaya
  • Abhinaya presentation by Alapadma School
  • Solo performances by Vidya Sundaram
  • Thillana by ACME Workshop participants

  • Kuchupudi and Bharatanatyam Collaboration by Meera Sunder and Kavya Smrithi Adabala
  • Odissi, Kathak and Bharatanatyam Collaboration by Sharbani Dutta, Pooja Ganesh and Ankitha Das
  • Bama Kalapam Kuchupudi presentation by ICDC
  • Panel Discussion on Choreography with leading teachers - Vidyalakshmi Vinod, Sangeetha Prasad, Sushma Yechuri and Leeza Mathew
  • BharataNrityam and presentation on Karanas by KalaSiddhi Dance

  • Abhinaya Improvisations by 6 talented artists
  • Solo performance by Neha Venkatesh
  • UW Natya
  • Vidai Kodu Bharathi - presenting modern scenarios through Bharatanatyam by Janani Ramachandran and Manaswini Sridhar- with live music

Finale performance by Smt. Anwesha Das starting 7:30pm


Quiz on Indian classical dance concepts will start around 3:30 pm and open for middle school age students to enroll but open for everyone to watch.

Our mission is to foster the growth of these ancient Indian art forms by extending their reach to a broader audience and cultivating a supportive community in the Greater Seattle area.  We do this by providing a platform for emerging talent, helping artists gain new skills and educating the local community about Indian classical dance and music and their heritage.
