2024 Girls In Aviation Day

Time:  GIAD officially starts at 9 AM, however this event is open house style and goes until 12 PM. With 250 girls expected, we encourage participants to arrive anytime between 9 AM and 11:30 AM.  Plan on spending approximately 1 hour with us to experience all of the aviation activities. 
Parking:  Please park in the main terminal parking lot (image attached). There you will find the Winchester Trolly waiting to take you to the hangar. Civil Air Patrol cadets will be on hand to guide you. 
Location:  491 Airport Road, Winchester. Our event is rain or shine, activities will be in a large corporate hangar with the door open. Please dress accordingly for a fall morning. 
What to expect:  You will check in at the main registration desk once you arrive at the terminal (no need for paper tickets, we will have your name on file). From there, you are welcome to explore and visit each table on your own. The Trolly will take you back to the parking lot when you are finished. 
Can't make it?  Please let us know - we are currently on a waitlist for tickets and another family could take your place. 

2024 Girls in Aviation Day will be Saturday, September 21 at Winchester Regional Airport.  GIAD is FREE and open to the public. Attendees must register in advance and this event will reach capacity at 200 people. 

When registering participants, please only register students (not adults/parents who are attending). This helps us keep track of the girls attending. Thank you! 

Our event starts at 9 AM and ends at 12 PM.  We encourage attendees to come anytime during those hours - open house style. Stay as long as you want and engage in as many activities as you can. Attendees can expect to spend about an hour with us.  

We have pilots, aircraft static displays, flight attendants, aerospace companies, simulators, local education partners, Civil Air Patrol, STARBASE, Women in Aviation, STEM Flights, flight schools, USAF, and so many more groups that will be offering activities for the girls. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of aerospace workforce professionals and aviation enthusiasts. 

This event is open to anyone from the public but please note that the activities are designed for girls ages 8-18.
