Usnavi, owner of the corner bodega, dreams of going out with local salon worker, Vanessa, as she dreams of leaving the Heights for her own apartment in the West Village. When someone wins $96,000 in the lottery, everyone is faced with the possibility of their dreams, as the pull of the past and years of tradition color the change that is overtaking their lives and their community.
