For over two decades, APALA has presented the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. This nationally recognized award honors and recognizes individual work about Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders and their heritage, based on literary and artistic merit.

We honor winners and honorable mentions in five categories, including adult nonfiction and picture books. Our  Literature Awards list is referenced in classrooms and libraries all over the country and many of our authors are bestsellers.
